Other Great Tips:

*Treatment of minor dental problems now can help your child avoid larger problems later.  The dentist will also show you how to properly care for and clean your child's teeth.

*Prepare to visit the dentist:
*Children need to visit a dentist around one year of age.
*The dentist will check for signs of tooth decay and gum disease.

Parenting Tips
*Dress and undress your baby slowly whenever you are not in a rush to allow time for your baby to "help."  Hold out the arm hole or leg hole of your baby's clothing to invite participation.  For more information on helping your baby build self-confidence, read Your Self-Confident Baby by Magda Gerber and Allison Johnson.
