*Enjoys tasting and touching when
exploring a new item
*Is able to pass a toy from one
hand to the other
*Has difficulty concentrating if
there is loud music or constant
television noise

Motor Development
*Holds a crayon to make marks on
paper
*Enjoys being able to practice
climbing
*May be able to carry a spoon to
mouth
*Likes to pull off socks and other
easily removed items

*Treatment of minor dental problems now can help your child avoid larger problems later. The dentist will also show you how to properly care for and clean your child's teeth.

*Prepare to visit the dentist:
*Children need to visit a dentist around one year of age.
*The dentist will check for signs of tooth decay and gum disease.

Parenting Tips
*Dress and undress your baby slowly whenever you are not in a rush to allow time for your baby to "help." Hold out the arm hole or leg hole of your baby's clothing to invite participation.
