Be prepared for your new baby. 

What do you need for your new baby?
     *Car seat
     *Crib, matress, and accessories
     *Receiving blankets
     *Undershirts, sleepers and outfits
     *Diapers and wipes
     *Baby bathtub
     *Baby soap, shampoo, and nail scissors
     *Thermometer and ear bulb

What might your baby look like?
             *Skin may be red and wrinkly
        *Head may be more cone-shaped than
          round

        *Hands tend to be tightly fisted
        *Eyes may appear crossed at times
        *Umbilical cord may be still attached
 

 

Safe Sleep Environment
        *Choose a firm crib mattress, with a tight 
 fitting sheet
        *Place crib away from airflow vents and window covering cords
        *Crib slats should not be placed more than 2 3/8 inches apart
        *Avoid placing stuffed animals, toys, and pillows in your newborn's crib
        *Avoid all loose bedding
        *Place your baby on his back to sleep

   

 

 

 

           

      

 

   

 Car Seat Safety
A child's car seat that is not installed correctly can be dangerous to your baby!

        *Read carefully and follow directions that come with the car seat
        *Check the car owner's manual to see if you need special equipment or additonal hardware
        *Do not put your child's car seat in the front passenger seat of the car
        *Infants under 1 year old and under 20 pounds should ride in a rear-facing car seat in the back
          seat of the car.
